Parallel operation with two generators of the same type:
Parallel operation is achieved when connecting two Panda AC generators of the same type together to operate as a single unit. This system does not feature full load-sharing capabilities for safety reasons and to keep the system simple to operate. This allows the generators’ output to be synchronised and either combined or switched from one generator to the other. To increase operational safety, both generators are shutdown if a system failure occurs.
This video demonstrates how electrical sources are switched/combined using two Fischer Panda generators depending on the current requirements for defence applications running varying loads.
Fischer Panda generator and an external power source
The Fischer Panda 24 PSC AC generator is fitted with latest fpControl system and is capable of load switching. An external power source is connected to the generator and its presence is monitored. When the external power source is disconnected or shut down (eg. lose of external land power connection), the generator begins an auto start sequence and the electrical load is transferred to generator. The sequence occurs within 60 seconds (including loss of load sensing, preheat, starting and load switching).
